Jonas Spriestersbach creates a series of unsettling vignettes that highlight some deeply disturbing but also outlandishly funny behavior patterns between humans and their desire to project themselves in their furry friends. But what does this tell us about our behavior?

Marie, Arthur, Emine, and Christian are ten years old. They live in Berlin. Strolling through the city with them, we experience their freedom as well as first notions of opposition.

In Germany and Russia, people drink the same amount of pure alcohol: ten liters per capita per year. Two Germans and two Russians are “functioning” young alcoholics. All four are trying to stop drinking. Drinking, however, is so woven into our everyday lives that we no longer even notice it: As long as we function, we drink. And as long as we drink, we function. How can we break out of this vicious circle?

What connects a photograph, the Second World War and a young couple? Set in the town of Kozienice, which was divided between the Polish and the Germans, the film follows Jewish photographer, Chaim Berman, through his family history, political persecution and work.
