Jean-Paul and Erica have their final confrontation, and Jean-Paul uses her fear of fire to his advantage by setting the mansion on fire. Erica is consumed by the flames and vanishes in a blue fog. Jean-Paul lights Jaques Eloi De Monde's portrait on fire to put an end to his evil.
