La otra educación (The Other Education) is about the class action suit Rosa Lydia Velez vs the Department of Education, and serves as the storyline to document 30 years of struggles that the families of disabled children in Puerto Rico have suffered. Their only request is the right to an education for their sons and daughters with special needs.

Based on the short story from Puerto Rican writer Abelardo Díaz Alfaro, it tells the story of a poor family on the eve of the Christmas celebration of the Three Kings.

Through the use of archival film and photo images, this documentary examines the political awakening and journey of nationalist leader Pedro Albizu Campos. The film also captures the volatile political and social atmosphere during the 1930’s and 1940’s which gave rise to Albizu Campos and the nationalist movement in Puerto Rico.

Larry is an insecure man who finds the reason for his liberation after Ángel disappears in an inexplicable event. When Ángel reappears, he draws him into the mystery from where he returned.

Each one of the 15 lighthouses around the island of Puerto Rico tells the story of the lighthouse keepers, wives or daughters that lived in them. Additional testimonies by architects, historians, biologists and fishermen take us on a trip of beauty, hope, perseverance around them, as we witness the magnificence of its structures and its magical surroundings. Some lighthouses are active, some have been restored, others have been abandoned but all have a unique story to tell.

Using the deterioration of education in Puerto Rico as a starting point, this documentary hopes to demonstrate the reasons why young people are dropping out of school. In contrast, they reveal the motivation of some students to complete their academic studies.
