“WAGERL” takes a humorous look at the controversial shopping carts in Vienna’s Großfeldsiedlung, which not only shape the parks, residential buildings, and streets but also cause a lot of trouble.

On the 3rd of October a twenty-four-year-old student from Vienna kills his lover and chops up her corpse. Her torso is found in a dumpster, other body parts and the head are missing. There is no clue about the motive of the murder. A silent chronology of the events.

Luisa returns to her parents' home when her father becomes bedridden. Andi shares a deserted building with a group of fellow-squatters he considers his family. One day his sister turns up unexpectedly with her small son Levi, seeking refuge from her abusive boyfriend; she has nowhere else to turn. So Andi suddenly finds himself in the role of uncle, the squat is transformed into an alternative kindergarten, and the estranged pair become the siblings they once were.

Ercan is fed up with clichés of migrant roles. Instead of playing a terrorist on television, the Turkish actor is trying to get a role as Hitler in a new movie.

Alex works as a project manager for an automobile parts supplier and is sick of it. It's obvious just looking at him. When the next project is announced already at the final meeting for the last one, he leaves without a word and decides to change his life. He meets Anna, a film student, and lapses into the idea that she should shoot a documentary about his life. Maybe it will be easier for him to start a new life after first passing review over the old one?

Anton gets confused when he visits Thea at home the first time. They recently had great sex. But now it seems weird that the flatmate Paula knows all about that night with Thea. What does she mean with "Geh Vau", he asks. "Fucking," answers Paula. When he's ready to head out for a concert of the feminist punkband "Schapka", Thea would prefer to stay at home with the handsome young man.

The reserved Julia has traveled to Vienna, especially to surprise her sister Johanna at her art performance. Johanna has rented a room for her feminist performance, hired two musicians and invited everyone she knows. However, the vernissage apparently turns into a miserably unsuccessful evening, which might bring the two siblings closer together again.
