הסרט מספר על מוזס, או בכינויו מומו, נער יהודי פשוט הרגיל לשמור על ביתו בזמן שאביו עובד קשה במשרד תמורת שכר זעום. מומו נוהג לגנוב דברים מהמכולת של "הערבי", וכאשר אדון איברהים סוף סוף מתעמת איתו על הגניבות, הוא מתייחס אליו ביתר קלות: "עדיף שתגנוב ממני מאשר שתגנוב ממישהו אחר". בין השניים נרקמת מערכת יחסים בה איברהים מלמד את מומו על כסף ונשים.
