Expert homesteader, Marty Raney, along with his daughter Misty and son Matt, give struggling families a second chance at surviving off-the-grid. The stakes are high, but the Raney family is determined to prepare these families for nature’s worst and set them up for success.

A struggle for power and control set in the rugged and mysterious hills of Appalachia, "Outsiders" tells the story of the Farrell clan, a family of outsiders who've been in these parts since before anyone can remember. Living off the grid and above the law on their mountaintop homestead, they'll protect their world and defend their way of life using any means necessary.

In the Frank Church Wilderness, the only means of transport and accessing supplies are by way of the largest un-dammed river in North America, the Salmon River, commonly referred to as “The River of No Return.” Under these circumstances, the residents of “The Frank” tackle everyday life in one of America’s last frontiers – from twenty-somethings seeking to test their limits, to the living legends of the River who have chosen to spend their lives there.
