Βοηθούμενος από μια πλειάδα εξαιρετικών ηθοποιών (άγνωστων σε µας, µε εξαίρεση την πανέμορφη Τάμλιν Τοµίτα), ο Γουέιν Γουάνγκ κάνει μια άκρως συγκινητική και ανθρώπινη ταινία, που ξεπερνά το εθνικό και φυλετικό πλαίσιο των αναφoρών της και καταφέρνει να αγγίξει την ευαισθησία οποιουδήποτε θεατή, ανεξαρτήτως χρώματος.
