Carmen is a gypsy teenager, destined to live a life that is repeated every generation: getting married and raising as many children as possible. But one day she meets Lola, an uncommon gypsy who dreams about going to university, does graffiti and is very different. Carmen quickly develops a complicity with Lola and discovers a world that, inevitably, leads them to be rejected by their families.

Young Eva makes her decision to stay in Madrid for the month of August an act of faith. She needs to feel things differently and think of summer as a time of opportunity. On days of festivities and verbenas, while events and encounters take place, Eva will discover that she still has time, that an opportunity can still be given.

A sex doll called Lucy wakes up in the bedroom of a doll brothel. She lives with Mina, another doll. Together they watch TV: their window to the real world. They imagine themselves living far away. After a while, Lucy wants to escape. But Mina doesn’t want to leave. Lucy has to choose between freedom and the doll she is in love with.

A boy and a girl who have just met transport a corpse on request to the north of Mexico. When the police discover them at a routine check, they are forced to flee. Forced to team up, they will abandon their secrecy and mistrust while trying to assert his only heritage: a dead man who they only know is worth money if they manage to take him to his destination.

On the periphery, the city's waste accumulates to form illegal dumps. In these, a new kind of life has emerged. It hides from the lights of humans, but the city reclaims what is its own. It advances and changes everything in its path. In its flight, the shadows remain in time. The thresholds persist. Gentrification, the death of one city and the rebirth of another.
